How to Save More on Your Groceries

It is often difficult to juggle financial needs along with other responsibilities. There are many considerations to think about especially when it comes to budgeting.

Budgeting is what you call a pain but necessary. After all, there is no gain without pain, isn’t it?

What are your necessities?

• Bills (electric, water and phone bills)
• Food
• Clothing
• Shelter (especially for those who do not own their place)

Here we are going to talk about how you can save on one of your basic necessity namely – food. Where do you buy food? Of course, you buy them from groceries or market.

Below are some tips that can help you save on your groceries:

• Make a list of what you need especially the ones commonly found in your kitchen.
 Coffee
 Sugar
 Milk
 Soy sauce
 Salt
 Vinegar
 Onion
 Garlic
• Plan your meals for the week. Determine what you will eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the entire week. This will prevent you from overspending.
• Avoid branded foods. Usually, these foods are just good for their names when in fact you can still get the same nutritional value on cheaper goods.
• Purchase products that are multi-purpose.
• Choose less expensive cuts of meat. Consider the meals you are going to prepare.
• Always pay in cash so that you will not be tempted to buy unnecessary items.
• Be creative in your meal preparation. Allow cheap diversities in the meals that you are going to serve. Introduce new tastes without compromising on prices. Cook left-over in a way that do not mess with you appetite.
• Eat small snacks in between meals so that you can temporarily ease your hunger and avoid spending too much on meals.
• Always keep the prices of all the usual food that you buy so that you have approximate amount of money you need the next time you go to the grocery.
• You can visit the grocery only once or twice a month so that your monthly expenses will not exceed your usual spending.
